Flavorah Concentrates for Personal Lubricants
Flavorah food-grade concentrates can be used to add flavor and scent to DIY personal lubricants. The water-soluble formula is compatible with water-based lubricant recipes that typically contain propylene glycol and glycerin, while oil-soluble options work with oil-based formulations. Because Flavorah products are food-grade, they provide a body-safe option for flavored intimate products.
Recommended Usage Rates
- Water, HEC, and Propylene Glycol based lubricants: 0.5-1.5% (water-soluble concentrate)
- Oil-based lubricant: 0.5-1.0% (oil-soluble concentrate)
- Start at the lower end and adjust for personal preference
Technique
For water-based lubricants, add water-soluble Flavorah concentrate to your lubricant base and mix thoroughly. For oil-based formulations, use oil-soluble concentrate and blend until fully incorporated. Maintain clean preparation practices and use sterilized containers. pH should remain in the range appropriate for the intended use. Test a small amount on skin before full use to check for any sensitivity.

- Water-soluble concentrates are compatible with water-based lubricant recipes using hydroxyethylcellulose or similar thickeners
- Oil-soluble concentrates work in oil-based formulations but are not compatible with latex
- Keep formulations simple and use preservatives appropriate for the base type

Popular Flavors
Strawberry, vanilla, watermelon, peach, and mint are the most commonly requested flavors for this application. Mild, sweet, and fruity profiles tend to work best. Avoid mints, cinnamons, and spice flavors that could cause irritation.
