Cotton candy is a high-heat, sugar-based application that requires a more concentrated dose of flavoring since the spinning process and high temperatures can reduce flavor intensity. Flavorah's heat-stable formula and extreme potency make it an excellent choice for cotton candy makers who want bold, custom flavors beyond the standard pink vanilla and blue raspberry.
Recommended Usage Rates
- Cotton candy sugar: 0.5-1.5% by weight of sugar (typical 1.0%)
- For flossing sugar: blend thoroughly before loading into the machine
- Higher rates may be needed for subtle flavors; reduce for intense flavors like cinnamon or menthol
Technique
Mix Flavorah concentrate into granulated sugar and blend thoroughly until the sugar is evenly coated and slightly damp. Allow the flavored sugar to sit for 10-15 minutes so the concentrate absorbs, then break up any clumps before loading into your cotton candy machine. Use pre-made flossing sugar as a base if preferred, adding concentrate to boost or customize the flavor.
