Flavorah Concentrates for Gourmet Popcorn
Gourmet flavored popcorn is a popular treat and a profitable product for small businesses. Flavorah concentrates deliver intense flavor to popcorn at when added at the right time in the popping process, and the oil-soluble options blend perfectly with the butter or oil coating that carries flavor onto each kernel. Water-soluble concentrates can be mixed into caramel or sugar coatings just before the pop.
Recommended Usage Rates
Most Popcorn recipes can handle flavoring at higher levels. Use these as a minimum reference by weight of dry popcorn.
- Butter or oil-coated popcorn: 0.25-0.75% of the oil or butter (typical 0.5%)
- Caramel corn coating: 0.3-0.75% of the caramel
- Seasoning blend: 3-5 drops mixed into dry seasonings per batch
- Kettle corn: 0.3-0.75% added to the sugar-oil mixture
Technique
With Flavorah Oil soluble flavors: For butter or oil-based popcorn, melt butter or warm oil, stir in Flavorah oil-soluble concentrate, and drizzle over freshly popped popcorn. Toss thoroughly to coat evenly.
With Water Soluble Flavorah Flavors: For caramel corn, add water-soluble concentrate to the caramel coating just before popping. For dry seasoning blends, mix a few drops of concentrate into the dry seasoning and let it absorb before sprinkling.
