Flavorah oil-soluble concentrates are popular with DIY cosmetic makers for adding flavor to lip balms and scent to lotions and body butters. The food-grade formula provides a safe option for products that contact lips and skin. Because Flavorah is highly potent, you need very little per batch, keeping ingredient costs low.

Recommended Usage Rates

• Lip balm: 0.5-1.5% by weight (typical 1.0%)
• Lip gloss: 0.5-1.0%
• Body lotion and cream: 0.3-1.0% for scent
• Body butter: 0.5-1.0%
• Sugar scrub: 0.5-1.5%

Technique

For lip balm, melt your wax and oil base (beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter), remove from heat, and stir in Flavorah oil-soluble concentrate before pouring into tubes or tins. Add when the mixture is warm but not hot for best flavor retention. For lotions and body butters, add concentrate during the final mixing stage. Oil-soluble concentrates are essential for all these applications since they integrate into the oil and wax base without separation.

Recipe Ideas

• Strawberry lip balm: add Flavorah Rich Strawberry at 1.0% to a beeswax and coconut oil base with pink tint
• Vanilla mint lip gloss: blend Flavorah Vanilla Custard at 0.5% and Flavorah Creme de Menthe at 0.5% in a clear gloss base
• Lavender body butter: add Flavorah Lavender at 0.75% to whipped shea butter for a calming moisturizer

Oil-soluble concentrates are required. Water-soluble products will not incorporate into wax or oil bases and will cause separation. Always perform a patch test before use on skin.
