Fish Baits & Animal Lures

Flavorah Concentrates for Fish Baits and Animal Lures

Flavorah concentrates are used by anglers, hunters and wildlife photographers to create custom scent-enhanced baits and lures. The highly concentrated formulas means a few drops deliver powerful scent attraction that disperses through water or air. Fruit, sweet, and savory flavors can be used depending on the target species and conditions.

Why Flavorah Works for Catching fish

Trophy fish that have been caught before will often remember the flavor of the bait that got them caught. Coarse fish species such as carp, tench, and catfish can live for decades and grow +15kg after being caught numerous times. Anglers need to present something unique and flavorful that interests the fish, but is not in their long term memory.  Tropical, fruit, and even bubble gum flavors can appeal to the fish, and be exactly what gets one of these old lunkers to bite.

Why Flavorah Works for Attracting game and wild animals.

Flavorah concentrates are not just appealing to humans. They capture the real flavor profiles and aromas of naturally beautiful fruits and foods that animals also enjoy.

When a deer or elk smells a fresh apple, it will stop and investigate. This extra moment is what is needed to capture the perfect photograph or sight picture of an elusive wild animal. Familiar flavor scents can also be used to cover and mask human scent while in the field.

Recommended Usage Rates

  • Dip baits, boilies, and dough baits: 1-3% by weight for strong scent dispersion
  • Soft plastic lure injection: 0.5-1.5%
  • Chum and ground bait: 0.5-2%
  • Spray attractant or cover scent: 1-2% in a water or ethyl alcohol carrier

Technique

For dough baits and boiles, knead Flavorah concentrate directly into the bait material. For soft plastic lure making, add concentrate to the liquid plastic before pouring into molds.

For spray attractants, mix concentrate with a 1:1 solution of water and ethyl alcohol. Use in a small pump sprayer, or drip from a flip top bottle upwind from the target animal.

Recipe Ideas

  • Strawberry catfish dough bait: add Flavorah Rich Strawberry at 2% to a flour and cornmeal dough bait for channel catfish
  • Pineapple Garlic carp bait: add Flavorah Pineapple and minced garlic at 1.5% to boilie or pack bait mix for carp fishing
  • Anise trout attractant: add Flavorah Anise at 1% to a spray bottle with water for trout lure enhancement
  • Berry scent trail mix: add Flavorah Blueberry at 1.5% to ground bait for freshwater pan fishing
  • Apple Elk Attractant:  Combine Flavorah Green Apple & Granny Smith at 5% in a solution of distilled water and alcohol. Use in a spray bottle and cover your boots, or drip onto a cotton ball for natural dispersion.

Bait and lure applications use higher concentrations than food applications. The goal is scent dispersion through water and air which can require a stronger initial concentration.
