Flavorah Concentrates for Coconut Oil
Flavored coconut oil is a versatile DIY product used in cooking, baking, skin care, hair treatments, and oil pulling. Flavorah oil-soluble concentrates blend perfectly into coconut oil because both are fat-based, creating a smooth, evenly flavored product with no separation or grittiness.
Recommended Usage Rates
- Cooking coconut oil: 0.25-1.0% (typical 0.5%)
- Baking coconut oil: 0.25-0.75%
- Skin and hair coconut oil: 0.5-1.0%
- Oil pulling coconut oil: 0.5-1.5% for pleasant flavor during the practice
Technique
Gently warm coconut oil until it is fully liquid (above 76F). Add Flavorah oil-soluble concentrate and stir thoroughly. Pour into a clean container and allow to re-solidify at room temperature. The concentrate will remain evenly distributed as the oil sets. For whipped coconut oil, allow flavored oil to partially solidify, then whip with a hand mixer until fluffy.
Recipe Ideas
- Vanilla coconut cooking oil: add Flavorah Vanilla Custard at 0.5% for baking and pancakes
- Lemon coconut oil: add Flavorah Lemon at 0.5% for a bright, citrus-scented cooking oil or hair treatment
- Peppermint oil pulling blend: add Flavorah Creme de Menthe at 1.0% to make oil pulling more pleasant
- Chocolate coconut spread: add Flavorah Milk Chocolate at 0.75% to warm coconut oil for a dairy-free chocolate spread
Oil-soluble concentrates are required for coconut oil applications. Water-soluble products will not blend properly and will separate.
