Flavor Profile
Flavorah Strawberry recalls a scoop of strawberry ice cream on a hot afternoon: ripe berries folded into something cool and creamy.
This is a firm-fruit strawberry with sweet, soft layers. It does not dominate; instead it gives a warm, fruity burst to rich flavors like custard and cream, with fruit notes closer to strawberry ice cream than strawberry hard candy and a gently jammy depth at natural sweetness.
Intensity is moderate. Strawberry is happiest as part of a team: it excels in creams, custards, cheesecakes, and cake rolls, and pairs well with fresher strawberries above it. Over-use turns it heavy and jam-thick, so start small and build. It is the strawberry of dessert memories.
Create Endless and Indelible Memories with Flavorah
All the flavors that we make at Flavorah are designed for mixing complex, layered recipes for products that may be consumed. Even though this Strawberry flavor will stand alone with memorable and captivating notes, we believe you will enjoy it most when you blend it with other flavors. It is our mission to create concentrates and extracts that become a powerful tool of flavor art in your culinary palette.
Use this Strawberry flavoring concentrate to develop your own artistic creations. As you blend it together with other complementary flavor layers, it will develop nuances and notes that either soften or strengthen according to your desire.
The layers of a completed flavoring profile can come from another Flavorah concentrate, such as Strawberry Smash or Cream, or from the medium you choose to mix it with. Try mixing Flavorah in baked goods, sweet frosting, syrups, a sugar-free smoothie, or a cocktail beverage.
Flavorah makes flavor art into an expression of individual perception and beauty. Our flavoring is designed to empower you to communicate this balance of potent perfection with the sense of taste and smell. Our Strawberry flavoring can harness the passing moments of enjoyment that will be experienced by everyone who samples your creation.
Flavorah is a product meant for the artist who wants to be tasted not heard, and smelled but not seen.
We know success when we see the satisfaction on the faces of our customers who create their own recipes. We delight in seeing our customers' recipes making the world a more bountiful experience for everyone to enjoy.
Layering Partners
Our customers around the globe have discovered that Strawberry layers well for memorable and complex creations:
- Flavorah Strawberry Smash: 8:3 (Strawberry to Strawberry Smash) for a fuller strawberry in cream desserts
- Flavorah Cream: 3:1 (Strawberry to Cream) for a strawberry lollipop or cream soda
- Flavorah Vanilla Custard: 2:3 (Strawberry to Vanilla Custard) in a strawberry cream pie
- Flavorah Grape: about 6:5 (Strawberry to Grape) for a fruit lollipop
- Flavorah Wild Melon: 5:6 (Strawberry to Wild Melon) in a melon and berry blend
Strawberry also pairs beautifully with these; let your palate set the balance:
- Flavorah Alpine Strawberry for a fresher, wild strawberry top note
- Flavorah Greek Yogurt and Flavorah Cheesecake for strawberry yogurt and cheesecake
- Flavorah Kiwi and Flavorah Lime for strawberry-kiwi drinks and gummies
Mood Through Combination
Folded into cream and custard, Strawberry feels nostalgic and comforting, like an ice cream social. With melon it turns sunny and unhurried, and with grape and candy notes it becomes playful.
Recipe Ideas
Velvet Strawberry Roll: Strawberry, Pound Cake, Cream, Sweet Cream, Strawberry Smash, Smooth Vanilla, Sweetness, Marshmallow, Lemon, and Vanilla Bean at about 54:32:14:12:7:6:5:5:4:4, a light sponge rolled around strawberry cream with a dry, powdered-sugar finish. Spellbound: Vanilla Custard, Whipped Cream, Strawberry, Sweet Cream, Vanilla Pudding, Caramel, and Strawberry Smash at 12:11:8:6:4:4:3, a strawberry cream pie. Lolly Pop: Strawberry, Grape, Candy Roll, Sweetness, and Cream at about 6:5:3:3:2. Sweet Coco Melon Berry: Wild Melon, Strawberry, Cantaloupe, Sweet Coconut, and Watermelon at 6:5:5:3:2.
Mixing Notes
Let Strawberry provide the ripe, jammy middle and add Alpine Strawberry or Strawberry Smash for freshness on top. A very small touch of Lemon brightens a sponge or cream without tasting of lemon.
Building a Recipe
Start with a small amount of Strawberry, taste, and build in small steps, testing in your own batch. As the main strawberry in a cream dessert it sits toward the middle of each range; as a jammy base under fresher strawberries, lower. Settle the ratios between your flavors before raising the total.
DIY Flavoring in the Kitchen or Behind the Bar
- Beverages (home brew, cocktails, sodas): 0.03-1.5% of the finished drink; start at 0.1%, about 7 drops per 8 oz glass or about 19 ml in a 5-gallon home brew.
- Custom syrups: 2% or stronger (1 part flavor to 50 parts syrup); start at 2%, about 1 tsp per cup of syrup. Make it bold, then dose the syrup to taste.
- Baking: 0.2-3% by weight of batter or dough; start at 1.5%, about 1 1/2 tsp per 500 g of cake batter. Cake rolls, shortcakes, and cream pies carry it well.
- Frostings, fillings, dairy, and frozen: 0.1-2% by weight; start at 0.3%, about 45 drops per 500 g of frosting. Strawberry ice cream and cream fillings are its natural home.
- Candy and gummies: 0.2-4% by weight; start at 0.5%, about 1/2 tsp per 500 g batch. Add as the batch cools.
- DIY fishing bait: 0.5-5% or higher by weight of bait; start at 1%, about 1 tsp per pound of dough bait.
- DIY animal attractants: 1-5% or higher by weight; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per pound of attractant.
- Home aroma (candles, diffusers, room sprays): 1-5% by weight of wax or base; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per 16 oz candle.
