Flavor Profile
Flavorah Jackfruit recalls the first time you smell one: a fruit the size of a basketball, so fragrant you want to tear into it with your fingers, sticky sap and all.
The flavor has ripe, melon-like notes over a tropical punch baseline, sweet and juicy, with a light bubblegum-like twist and hints of pineapple.
Intensity is moderate. Jackfruit is great as a unique fruit on its own or in any punch and tropical blend, and it pairs naturally with melon, berries, citrus, and gum. Start small and build. It is a flavor worth remembering.
Create Endless and Indelible Memories with Flavorah
All the flavors that we make at Flavorah are designed for mixing complex, layered recipes for products that may be consumed. Even though this Jackfruit flavor will stand alone with memorable and captivating notes, we believe you will enjoy it most when you blend it with other flavors. It is our mission to create concentrates and extracts that become a powerful tool of flavor art in your culinary palette.
Use this Jackfruit flavoring concentrate to develop your own artistic creations. As you blend it together with other complementary flavor layers, it will develop nuances and notes that either soften or strengthen according to your desire.
The layers of a completed flavoring profile can come from another Flavorah concentrate, such as Wild Melon or Berry Blend, or from the medium you choose to mix it with. Try mixing Flavorah in smoothies, sorbet, gummies, or a tropical cocktail.
Flavorah makes flavor art into an expression of individual perception and beauty. Our flavoring is designed to empower you to communicate this balance of potent perfection with the sense of taste and smell. Mood Through Combination
With wild melon and berries, Jackfruit feels playful and summery. With bubble gum it turns joyful and nostalgic, and with guanabana and cherimoya it becomes a tropical discovery.
Recipe Ideas
Wild Jack: Wild Melon, Berry Blend, Jackfruit, and Tangerine at 12:8:6:5, a summery fruit blend for punches, seltzers, and spritzers. Flavor artists also pair Jackfruit with Pineapple and Bubble Gum for tropical gum and candy.
Mixing Notes
Jackfruit's melon and gum notes blend easily; add citrus when a punch needs lift, or pineapple to push it more tropical.
Building a Recipe
Start with a small amount, taste, and build in small steps, testing in your own batch. As the lead tropical note it sits toward the middle of each range; as one fruit in a punch, lower. Settle the ratios first, then the total.
DIY Flavoring in the Kitchen or Behind the Bar
- Beverages (home brew, cocktails, sodas): 0.03-1.5% of the finished drink; start at 0.1%, about 7 drops per 8 oz glass or about 19 ml in a 5-gallon home brew. Seltzers, punches, and spritzers carry it well.
- Custom syrups: 2% or stronger (1 part flavor to 50 parts syrup); start at 2%, about 1 tsp per cup of syrup. Make it bold, then dose the syrup to taste.
- Baking: 0.2-3% by weight of batter or dough; start at 1%, about 1 tsp per 500 g of cake batter.
- Frostings, fillings, dairy, and frozen: 0.1-2% by weight; start at 0.3%, about 45 drops per 500 g of frosting.
- Candy and gummies: 0.2-4% by weight; start at 0.5%, about 1/2 tsp per 500 g batch. Add as the batch cools. A natural for tropical gum-style candy.
- DIY fishing bait: 0.5-5% or higher by weight of bait; start at 1%, about 1 tsp per pound of dough bait.
- DIY animal attractants: 1-5% or higher by weight; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per pound of attractant.
- Home aroma (candles, diffusers, room sprays): 1-5% by weight of wax or base; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per 16 oz candle.
