Flavor Profile
Flavorah Cranberry belongs at the holiday table, in the relish bowl, the punch, and the pie that only appears once a year.
The flavor is a sweet, dried-cranberry style with a resemblance to cranberry sauce, more than the cran-apple of a cider. Opening notes are sweet-tart and juicy, the body has a sauce-like depth with good acidity, and the finish is clean and crisp, never bitter.
Intensity is moderate. Cranberry is an important layer in berry profiles and tart fruit blends, adding lift to sweeter fruit, desserts, and sodas, and it shines with apple, peach, and warm spice. Dosed too high it becomes floral quickly, so start small and build. It is a flavor of seasons and gatherings, worth tasting again every year.
Create Endless and Indelible Memories with Flavorah
All the flavors that we make at Flavorah are designed for mixing complex, layered recipes for products that may be consumed. Even though this Cranberry flavor will stand alone with memorable and captivating notes, we believe you will enjoy it most when you blend it with other flavors. It is our mission to create concentrates and extracts that become a powerful tool of flavor art in your culinary palette.
Use this Cranberry flavoring concentrate to develop your own artistic creations. As you blend it together with other complementary flavor layers, it will develop nuances and notes that either soften or strengthen according to your desire.
The layers of a completed flavoring profile can come from another Flavorah concentrate, such as Boysenberry or Ginger Peach, or from the medium you choose to mix it with. Try mixing Flavorah in baked goods, sweet frosting, syrups, a sugar-free smoothie, or a cocktail beverage.
Flavorah makes flavor art into an expression of individual perception and beauty. Our flavoring is designed to empower you to communicate this balance of potent perfection with the sense of taste and smell. Our Cranberry flavoring can harness the passing moments of enjoyment that will be experienced by everyone who samples your creation.
Flavorah is a product meant for the artist who wants to be tasted not heard, and smelled but not seen.
We know success when we see the satisfaction on the faces of our customers who create their own recipes. We delight in seeing our customers' recipes making the world a more bountiful experience for everyone to enjoy.
Layering Partners
Our customers around the globe have discovered that Cranberry layers well for memorable and complex creations:
- Flavorah Boysenberry: 1:2 (Cranberry to Boysenberry), with Cranberry as a tart accent in a creamy berry custard
- Flavorah Ginger Peach: 3:2 (Cranberry to Ginger Peach) in a holiday relish
- Flavorah Apple Cider: 3:1 (Cranberry to Apple Cider) for an orchard note
- Flavorah Persimmon: 3:1 (Cranberry to Persimmon) for a soft, honeyed fruit layer
Cranberry also pairs beautifully with these; let your palate set the balance:
- Flavorah Apple and Flavorah Apple Filling for cranberry-apple pies, crisps, and cider
- Flavorah Citrus Soda for a cranberry spritzer or holiday punch
- Flavorah Greek Yogurt for a tart cranberry yogurt or smoothie
Mood Through Combination
With apple cider and persimmon, Cranberry feels like belonging around a shared table. Over sparkling citrus it turns celebratory, and with cream and custard it becomes a nostalgic holiday dessert.
Recipe Ideas
Relish The Thought: Cranberry, Ginger Peach, Apple Cider, Peach, Persimmon, and Sweetness at 3:2:1:1:1:1, a Thanksgiving-style cranberry relish that also works as a cocktail syrup or glaze. Kirk's Custard Sauce: Vanilla Custard, Boysenberry, Cream, and Cranberry at 3:2:2:1 for a creamy berry custard with a cranberry edge.
Mixing Notes
Cranberry's tartness lets sweeter partners shine. Keep it moderate; when a blend starts to smell floral, reduce Cranberry instead of adding more fruit.
Building a Recipe
Start small, taste, and build in steps, testing in your own batch before making the full recipe. As the lead fruit in a punch or relish Cranberry sits toward the middle of each range; as a tart accent under boysenberry or apple, lower. Set the ratios between your flavors, then adjust the total.
