Flavor Profile
Flavorah Clove delivers pure, potent clove bud spice with sharp eugenol heat and woody earth. The aroma presents freshly ground cloves with earthy warmth and classic holiday spice character that is a little medicinal.
Opening notes reveal strong clove spice with woody, earthy depth and immediate impact. The body develops into warm, spicy territory with subtle sweetness and a hint of numbing eugenol character. The finish lingers with warmth and spice, leaving clean herbal notes.
This is an intense, low-usage spice rated 7.5/10 that captures spot-on clove authenticity. The bold profile makes it essential as an accent for holiday mixes, tobaccos, and spiced profiles where authentic clove is needed.
Complementary Flavors
Flavorah Clove pairs with fruits, spices, and tobaccos. Its intense character requires careful pairing and very low usage.
- Flavorah Pumpkin Spice: 5:1 for holiday pie
- Flavorah Cinnamon Crunch: 5:1 for spice blend
- Flavorah Virginia Tobacco: 8:1 for clove tobacco
- Flavorah Apple: 6:1 for spiced apple
- Flavorah Ginger: 3:1 for warm spice duo
Recipe Concepts
Create clove cigarette profile by combining minimally with Flavorah Tobaccos. For holiday pie, blend sparingly with Flavorah Pumpkin Spice. Works in spiced apple and mulled wine applications.
Mixing Notes
Extremely potent spice bomb. Can overpower and numb the tongue at high percentages. Use sparingly at 0.1-0.25% to avoid dominating. Great for accents but not for leading the charge. Warm and tingly mouthfeel with slight drying effect.
Beverage Applications
For mulled wine and spiced beverages, add 0.05-0.15% for clove accent. The potent profile requires minimal usage. For chai-style drinks, add 0.1% combined with other spices.
- Mulled beverages: 0.05-0.15% as accent
- Chai drinks: 0.1% with spice blend
- Spiced cider: 0.05-0.1% for warmth
Baking Applications
For holiday cookies and spiced cakes, add 0.1-0.2% by weight with wet ingredients. The potent character means minimal usage delivers full spice.
- Holiday cookies: 0.1-0.2% by weight
- Pumpkin pie: 0.1-0.15% with spices
- Gingerbread: 0.1-0.2% combined
Confectionery Applications
For clove candy and spiced confections, add 0.1-0.2% to the mixture. Creates warming holiday treats.
Usage Notes
Flavorah Clove is extremely potent. Start at less than 0.1% maximum and adjust. Higher percentages cause numbing and medicinal off-notes. A little goes a very long way.
