Flavor Profile
Flavorah Cactus Apple is a pairing flavor that lifts a whole fruit blend, adding juiciness that guests taste without ever naming.
It is a sticky-sweet blend of prickly pear, cactus, and apple slices. The cactus sits in the middle, natural and gently earthy, while sweet-tart green apple brings brightness and contrast, with no bitterness or vegetal edge.
Use a small amount to make a fruit blend taste wetter and fuller, or more to bring the cactus and apple forward. It works across watermelon, citrus, pear, and tropical blends. Start small and build; its best work is felt more than noticed.
Create Endless and Indelible Memories with Flavorah
All the flavors that we make at Flavorah are designed for mixing complex, layered recipes for products that may be consumed. Even though this Cactus Apple flavor will stand alone with memorable and captivating notes, we believe you will enjoy it most when you blend it with other flavors. It is our mission to create concentrates and extracts that become a powerful tool of flavor art in your culinary palette.
Use this Cactus Apple flavoring concentrate to develop your own artistic creations. As you blend it together with other complementary flavor layers, it will develop nuances and notes that either soften or strengthen according to your desire.
The layers of a completed flavoring profile can come from another Flavorah concentrate, such as Watermelon or Lemonade, or from the medium you choose to mix it with. Try mixing Flavorah in smoothies, sorbet, gummies, or a tropical cocktail.

Layering Partners
Cactus Apple layers well with these partners; let your palate set the balance:
Customers love Cactus Apple with:
- Flavorah Watermelon and Flavorah Wild Melon for a juicier melon cooler
- Flavorah Lemonade for a prickly pear lemonade or agua fresca
- Flavorah Apple and Flavorah Pear for a crisp orchard blend
- Flavorah Pineapple and Flavorah Mango for a desert-meets-tropics punch
- Flavorah Blackberry for a dark berry punch with extra juiciness
Mood Through Combination
With watermelon, Cactus Apple feels easy and sun-soaked, like a poolside cooler. In a lemonade it turns joyful and bright, and with tropical fruit it becomes a playful house-party punch.
Recipe Ideas
Flavor artists use Cactus Apple to add juiciness to melon coolers, prickly pear lemonades, and tropical punches. A small amount under watermelon or pear makes the fruit taste fresher and wetter.
Mixing Notes
At low levels Cactus Apple acts as a juiciness and body enhancer; at higher levels the cactus and apple become recognizable flavors. Decide which role you want before you build.
Building a Recipe
Start with a small amount, taste, and build in small steps, testing in your own batch. As a juiciness enhancer it sits at the bottom of each range; as a featured prickly pear flavor, higher. Set the ratios first, then adjust the total.
DIY Flavoring in the Kitchen or Behind the Bar
- Beverages (home brew, cocktails, sodas): 0.03-1.5% of the finished drink; start at 0.1%, about 7 drops per 8 oz glass or about 19 ml in a 5-gallon home brew. A small amount makes coolers and agua frescas taste juicier.
- Custom syrups: 2% or stronger (1 part flavor to 50 parts syrup); start at 2%, about 1 tsp per cup of syrup. Make it bold, then dose the syrup to taste.
- Baking: 0.2-3% by weight of batter or dough; start at 0.4%, about 60 drops per 500 g of cake batter.
- Frostings, fillings, dairy, and frozen: 0.1-2% by weight; start at 0.3%, about 45 drops per 500 g of frosting.
- Candy and gummies: 0.2-4% by weight; start at 0.5%, about 1/2 tsp per 500 g batch. Add as the batch cools. Try it in a prickly pear gummy.
- DIY fishing bait: 0.5-5% or higher by weight of bait; start at 1%, about 1 tsp per pound of dough bait.
- DIY animal attractants: 1-5% or higher by weight; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per pound of attractant.
- Home aroma (candles, diffusers, room sprays): 1-5% by weight of wax or base; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per 16 oz candle.
