Flavor Profile
Flavorah Boysenberry is one berry with two sides: dark blackberry depth and bright raspberry lift, ready to lean whichever way your pairing takes it.
The aroma is sweet, jammy boysenberry with a light tart note. Opening notes bring dark, tart blackberry with a hint of raspberry candy, the body is juicy and jam-like with a soft floral edge, and the finish is sweet and clean.
Intensity is strong; clear boysenberry notes carry well, mix easily with other fruits, and with bakery flavors become a jam filling. It can lead a recipe or add jammy depth to blueberry, custard, and cream. At high levels the floral edge grows, so start small and build.

Recipe Ideas
Kirk's Custard Sauce: Vanilla Custard, Boysenberry, Cream, and Cranberry at 3:2:2:1, a creamy boysenberry custard with a cranberry accent for milkshakes and dessert drinks. Berry Berry Good: Boysenberry, Acai, Alpine Strawberry, Berry Blend, and Sweetness at 8:4:2:2:1 for a dark mixed-berry blend. Flavor artists also add a small amount of Boysenberry to blueberry muffin recipes to deepen the jammy notes. Pink Pop: Pink Fruit, Citrus Soda, Sweetness, Boysenberry, and Black Currant at 14:8:4:3:2 for a pink citrus soda. Candy Blues: Blue Raz, Boysenberry, Sweetness, Marshmallow, Blueberry, Red Raspberry, and Candy Roll at 50:30:20:15:10:10:3, a blue candy blend for slushies, sodas, and hard candy.
Mixing Notes
Boysenberry carries a recipe on its own and can easily smother a light soda, so keep it low there and let partners stay small. Lemon or cranberry keeps the jammy sweetness lively; cream rounds it.
Building a Recipe
Begin with a small amount, taste, and build in small steps, testing in your own batch. As the lead berry Boysenberry sits higher in each range; as a jam booster under blueberry or custard, much lower. Lock in the ratios between your flavors before raising the total.
