Flavor Profile
Flavorah Blackberry Blossom is an excellent blackberry with a gentle floral lift, the kind of note guests notice only as a sense that a recipe tastes complete.
The aroma is fragrant blossoms over the sweet, dark note of a bowl filled with blackberries. No prickles: the fruit is smooth and rounded, with floral notes first and blackberry sweetness close behind.
It stands alone as a blackberry or complements berry blends with Boysenberry and strawberries. In small amounts it lifts melon, pear, and raspberry; to lead against a strong partner such as lemonade, it takes a larger share. Start small and build; used lightly, it adds fragrance without asking for attention.
Create Endless and Indelible Memories with Flavorah
All the flavors that we make at Flavorah are designed for mixing complex, layered recipes for products that may be consumed. Even though this Blackberry Blossom flavor will stand alone with memorable and captivating notes, we believe you will enjoy it most when you blend it with other flavors. It is our mission to create concentrates and extracts that become a powerful tool of flavor art in your culinary palette.
Use this Blackberry Blossom flavoring concentrate to develop your own artistic creations. As you blend it together with other complementary flavor layers, it will develop nuances and notes that either soften or strengthen according to your desire.
The layers of a completed flavoring profile can come from another Flavorah concentrate, such as Lemonade or Honeydew, or from the medium you choose to mix it with. Try mixing Flavorah in baked goods, sweet frosting, syrups, a sugar-free smoothie, or a cocktail beverage.
Flavorah makes flavor art into an expression of individual perception and beauty. Our flavoring is designed to empower you to communicate this balance of potent perfection with the sense of taste and smell. Our Blackberry Blossom flavoring can harness the passing moments of enjoyment that will be experienced by everyone who samples your creation.

Layering Partners
Our customers around the globe have discovered that Blackberry Blossom layers well for memorable and complex creations:
- Flavorah Lemonade: 5:4 (Blackberry Blossom to Lemonade), with Blackberry Blossom leading a floral berry lemonade
- Flavorah Honeydew: 2:15 (Blackberry Blossom to Honeydew) as a floral accent over melon
- Flavorah Pear: 1:5 (Blackberry Blossom to Pear) for a juicy orchard layer
- Flavorah Red Raspberry: 2:5 (Blackberry Blossom to Red Raspberry) to brighten the berry
Blackberry Blossom also pairs beautifully with these; let your palate set the balance:
- Flavorah Boysenberry and Flavorah Strawberry for a fuller berry blend
- Flavorah Honey Bee for a honeyed blossom tea, glaze, or mead-style drink
- Flavorah Cream and Flavorah Vanilla Bean for a soft floral buttercream or panna cotta
- Flavorah Elderflower for a floral bouquet in spritzes and lemonades
- Flavorah Red Burley for an unexpected dark, spicy, earthy contrast, especially in home aroma
Mood Through Combination
Over honeydew and pear, Blackberry Blossom feels calm and unhurried, like a garden afternoon. In a lemonade it turns playful and picnic-bright, and with cream, honey, and vanilla it becomes tender and romantic.
Recipe Ideas
Honeydew Blossom: Honeydew, Pear, Red Raspberry, and Blackberry Blossom at 15:10:5:2, a lush melon with pear and berry where Blackberry Blossom adds a floral finish; try it in sparkling water, sorbet, or a melon cocktail. Flavor artists also build a blackberry blossom lemonade at 5:4 with Lemonade, letting the blossom lead.
Mixing Notes
Decide first whether Blackberry Blossom is the accent or the lead. As an accent, a small fraction of the blend is plenty; as the lead against lemonade or citrus, it needs to be the largest share. If a blend turns perfumed, add more fruit instead of more blossom.
Building a Recipe
Start with a small amount, taste, and build in small steps, testing in your own batch before you make more. As a fragrant accent over melon or pear it sits near the bottom of each range; as the lead in a lemonade or soda it moves well up the range. Fix the ratio between Blackberry Blossom and its partners, then adjust the total.
DIY Flavoring in the Kitchen or Behind the Bar
- Beverages (home brew, cocktails, sodas): 0.03-1.5% of the finished drink; start at 0.1%, about 7 drops per 8 oz glass or about 19 ml in a 5-gallon home brew.
- Custom syrups: 2% or stronger (1 part flavor to 50 parts syrup); start at 2%, about 1 tsp per cup of syrup. Make it bold, then dose the syrup to taste.
- Baking: 0.2-3% by weight of batter or dough; start at 1%, about 1 tsp per 500 g of cake batter.
- Frostings, fillings, dairy, and frozen: 0.1-2% by weight; start at 0.3%, about 45 drops per 500 g of frosting. Taste frozen bases cold.
- Candy and gummies: 0.2-4% by weight; start at 0.5%, about 1/2 tsp per 500 g batch. Add as the batch cools.
- DIY fishing bait: 0.5-5% or higher by weight of bait; start at 1%, about 1 tsp per pound of dough bait.
- DIY animal attractants: 1-5% or higher by weight; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per pound of attractant.
- Home aroma (candles, diffusers, room sprays): 1-5% by weight of wax or base; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per 16 oz candle. A soft floral berry suits diffusers and room sprays.
