Flavor Profile
Flavorah Berry Blend gives the flavor artist a finished mixed-berry canvas in one bottle: raspberry up front, blueberry and blackberry close behind, ready to be shaped into almost anything.
The aroma is a juicy berry punch with a slight tart edge. Opening notes are sweet and juicy with raspberry in the lead, the body fills in with blueberry and a hint of blackberry, and a light grape-skin note appears as the finish settles, clean and gently sweet.
Intensity is medium. Berry Blend can stand alone, but it shines brightest mixed with other notes, as the berry base under creams, yogurts, cheesecakes, and sodas. In high concentrations it moves toward berry jam and flattens the brighter fruit, so start small and build. It is a dependable foundation for your own berry signature.
Create Endless and Indelible Memories with Flavorah
All the flavors that we make at Flavorah are designed for mixing complex, layered recipes for products that may be consumed. Even though this Berry Blend flavor will stand alone with memorable and captivating notes, we believe you will enjoy it most when you blend it with other flavors. It is our mission to create concentrates and extracts that become a powerful tool of flavor art in your culinary palette.
Use this Berry Blend flavoring concentrate to develop your own artistic creations. As you blend it together with other complementary flavor layers, it will develop nuances and notes that either soften or strengthen according to your desire.
The layers of a completed flavoring profile can come from another Flavorah concentrate, such as Blueberry or Boysenberry, or from the medium you choose to mix it with. Try mixing Flavorah in baked goods, sweet frosting, syrups, a sugar-free smoothie, or a cocktail beverage.
Flavorah makes flavor art into an expression of individual perception and beauty. Our flavoring is designed to empower you to communicate this balance of potent perfection with the sense of taste and smell. Our Berry Blend flavoring can harness the passing moments of enjoyment that will be experienced by everyone who samples your creation.
Flavorah is a product meant for the artist who wants to be tasted not heard, and smelled but not seen.
We know success when we see the satisfaction on the faces of our customers who create their own recipes. We delight in seeing our customers' recipes making the world a more bountiful experience for everyone to enjoy.
Layering Partners
Our customers around the globe have discovered that Berry Blend layers well for memorable and complex creations:
- Flavorah Blueberry: 2:3 (Berry Blend to Blueberry) in a berries-and-cream blend
- Flavorah Boysenberry: 1:4 (Berry Blend to Boysenberry) to round out a dark berry base
- Flavorah Acai: 1:2 (Berry Blend to Acai) for added purple-berry depth
- Flavorah Alpine Strawberry: 1:1 (Berry Blend to Alpine Strawberry) for a riper strawberry note
- Flavorah Wild Melon: 2:3 (Berry Blend to Wild Melon) for a summery berry-melon drink
- Flavorah Black Currant: about 5:3 (Berry Blend to Black Currant) in a grape bubble gum blend
- Flavorah Grape: 3:5 (Berry Blend to Grape) for a grape juice lemonade
Berry Blend also pairs beautifully with these; let your palate set the balance:
- Flavorah Greek Yogurt for berry yogurt, smoothies, and frozen yogurt
- Flavorah Lemonade for a berry lemonade, soda syrup, or gummy
- Flavorah Marshmallow for a fluffy, sweeter berry in frosting and cereal treats
- Flavorah Pastry Zest for berry cobblers, hand pies, and crumb bars
Mood Through Combination
With Greek Yogurt, Berry Blend reads like an easy summer breakfast. With lemonade it turns playful and picnic-ready, and over cheesecake and graham it moves toward an indulgent, nostalgic dessert.
Recipe Ideas
A luxurious cheesecake with berry compote layers Cheesecake, Graham Cracker, Vanilla Custard, Greek Yogurt, Blueberry Muffin, Berry Blend, Berry Cheesecake, and Brie Cheese at 12:7:6:4:4:3:3:2, ready for dessert shakes and cream liqueur drinks. Wild Jack: Wild Melon, Berry Blend, Jackfruit, and Tangerine at 12:8:6:5 for punches, seltzers, and spritzers. Berry Berry Good: Boysenberry, Acai, Alpine Strawberry, Berry Blend, and Sweetness at 8:4:2:2:1 for a dark mixed-berry blend. Grape Gum: Grape, Berry Blend, Bubble Gum, Black Currant, and Sweetness at about 12:12:10:7:4 for a fruity bubble gum candy. Grape Juice: Lemonade, Grape, Berry Blend, Ice, and Sweetness at 12:10:6:1:1, a grape juice lemonade with berry depth.
Mixing Notes
Because Berry Blend is already a blend, one or two partners are often enough. Add a single bright fruit or a cream note and let the berry base do the rest.
Building a Recipe
A strong recipe starts with a small amount: add a little Berry Blend, taste, and build in small steps, testing in your own batch. As the lead berry it sits toward the middle of each range; as a supporting layer under a cheesecake or a cream, lower. Settle the ratios between your flavors first, then raise or lower the total together.
DIY Flavoring in the Kitchen or Behind the Bar
- Beverages (home brew, cocktails, sodas): 0.03-1.5% of the finished drink; start at 0.1%, about 7 drops per 8 oz glass or about 19 ml in a 5-gallon home brew. Add after carbonation for sodas.
- Custom syrups: 2% or stronger (1 part flavor to 50 parts syrup); start at 2%, about 1 tsp per cup of syrup. Make it bold, then dose the syrup to taste.
- Baking: 0.2-3% by weight of batter or dough; start at 1.5%, about 1 1/2 tsp per 500 g of cake batter.
- Frostings, fillings, dairy, and frozen: 0.1-2% by weight; start at 0.3%, about 45 drops per 500 g of frosting.
- Candy and gummies: 0.2-4% by weight; start at 0.5%, about 1/2 tsp per 500 g batch. Add as the batch cools.
- DIY fishing bait: 0.5-5% or higher by weight of bait; start at 1%, about 1 tsp per pound of dough bait. A sweet berry note is worth testing in dough baits.
- DIY animal attractants: 1-5% or higher by weight; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per pound of attractant.
- Home aroma (candles, diffusers, room sprays): 1-5% by weight of wax or base; start at 2%, about 1 3/4 tsp per 16 oz candle.
